Common questions
Do I need a backend or a server?
Not always. Many apps we build store data on the device or run entirely in the browser, which is cheaper, faster, and more private — there’s no server to pay for or secure. If your project genuinely needs a backend (say, multiple people sharing live data), we’ll explain exactly why and what it costs before you commit to anything.
Who pays for the AI API costs?
You do — directly, and only for what you use. AI features run on the Anthropic Claude API, which is billed by usage. We set the account up in your name so you own it, control it, and can see every charge. We never mark it up or resell it, and we’ll estimate the expected monthly cost before we build so there are no surprises.
What’s your process for changes and revisions?
Small tweaks during the build are expected and included. A larger change that expands the original scope gets its own quick estimate first, so you always approve the cost before any extra work happens. You won’t receive an invoice for work you didn’t agree to.
Who’s responsible for my app’s privacy and user data?
Privacy-first is our default and our advice on every project. But what your app ultimately collects — and the privacy policy it shows your users — is your call and your responsibility as the app’s owner. We build it to respect your users, we’ll tell you straight when a choice works against them, and we set every account up in your name so you own and control it. Your app gets its own privacy policy; ours covers only our own products.
